I have become an expert in diplomacy and managing behaviours.

In my role as a Childminder I have to help little one’s transition into my setting, helping them adjust, make attachments, learn to share, turn take, co-operate and help co- regulate their behaviours. Self regulation does not fully develop until early adulthood- mid 20’s.

It’s important to

  • understand that all children’s emotions and feelings are valid but that some of their behaviours are not.

  • name feelings and recognise the emotions they are experiencing

  • show them how to manage strong feelings and giving you tips to help you co-regulate alongside them and help them calm themselves down

  • help them develop coping techniques and tools for different situations

  • show them how to express themselves differently, what could they do next time they have the same feelings

  • model good behaviours ourselves to children

  • support them as they come out of emotional storms, temper tantrums, melt-downs, flap & flips- whatever the terminology you use.

    Emotional management packages:

  • 1 hour telephone/video conference. An e-guide to help you learn co-regulating techniques and children learn regulating skills £50

  • 2 hour home visit- observing and advising/showing some techniques. An E-guide to helping you and your child learn regulating strategies £100 + travel expenses

Please call me if you live in a country where the income/currency is lower than the prices in English Pounds then I am open to finding a price that is fair and affordable to your family.

Self-regulation is the “ability to monitor and manage your energy states, emotions, thoughts, and behaviours in ways that are acceptable and produce positive results such as well-being, loving relationships, and learning”.
