How can I help?

Are you a parent who is experiencing sleep deprivation due to your baby/child’s sleeping habits? Are you functioning on auto pilot and trying to keep all the plates spinning until you get to the season’s holiday? Has lock down changed how you would normally put your child to bed and thrown routines out the window? There are so many families struggling now with their baby/child’s sleeping routines and their own lack of sleep.

There is no right or wrong way when it comes to sleep training babies/children. They are all individuals, with different family situations and dynamics. It is about finding an approach that will work and be best suited for your particular family. Also, it is about managing expectations and what is possible for the age and developmental stages of your baby/child. Then a great amount of patience, consistency and commitment is needed from you and all those who support the child. There are methods that may horrify you (most parents immediately think of the ‘cry-it-out’ method) and you will absolutely know is not for your family, it must suit your own parenting styles and the temperament of your child.

I believe in taking a holistic approach, looking at diet, exercise, sleep environment, bedtime routine, and health issues. But more than anything I think it is important to take a compassionate and empathetic approach to your situation and offer clear and concise information to support you. After all, it is likely I have had similar issues regarding my own children’s sleeping over the years and empathise completely. Also working with other people’s children for over 27 years has given me lots of insight and problem-solving tips to share with you.
